Uganda vaccinated 8.2 million children in five days — beating its own target

Uganda's Ministry of Health says 8,285,835 children aged nine to 59 months received a measles-rubella vaccine dose in a five-day campaign held October 1–5 — 108.8% of the national target, meaning about 669,000 more children than planned. Health workers and Village Health Teams crossed difficult terrain to reach remote communities. Parents who missed the campaign are being pointed to their nearest health facility to catch up.

The upbeat factorjoy — millions of small arms protected, and a country that outran its own goal.
