Vietnam's homegrown pig vaccine just made its first commercial trip abroad: 100,000 doses to the Philippines

African swine fever devastates pig herds and the farmers who depend on them, and Vietnam is one of the first countries to beat it to a vaccine. This week its AVAC ASF LIVE vaccine made its first commercial export: 100,000 doses shipped to the Philippines as part of a 300,000-dose order, after Philippine regulators cleared it for open sale following years of field monitoring on more than 500,000 pigs. A regional solution, built where the problem lives.

The upbeat factora vaccine born in Vietnam is now standing guard over another country's farmers.
