With her feet on the bow, Sheetal Devi matches the world record: 704 points
Sheetal Devi was born without arms, and she shoots a bow with her feet — sitting tall, drawing the string back, and holding her aim with a composure that stops crowds mid-breath. At the Asian Para Games 2026 qualification round, the 19-year-old Indian archer scored 704 points across 72 arrows — 352 in each half, with 25 perfect tens — equalling the world record set by Türkiye's Öznur Cüre Girdi at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and breaking her own Asian Games record of 680. She topped the standings outright. Teammate Payal Nag added 675, and together the pair also led the women's doubles ranking. It is a score no one in her event had ever matched from a chair, with a bow held between her toes.
The upbeat factora teenager who aims with her feet just matched the best score her sport has ever seen.
