Women no longer have to fly blind through perimenopause — a first-of-its-kind wearable just made TIME's best inventions
Perimenopause — the years of change before menopause — affects almost every woman, yet there has never been a standard way to measure what is actually happening in her body. Most women who seek help leave a short appointment without clear answers, relying on memory to describe months of hot flashes, night sweats and broken sleep. Peri, a small sensor worn under the breast through exercise, sleep and showers, was built to change that: it tracks those upper-body signals continuously, and its app, trained on data from 204 women in human trials, shows how symptoms, sleep, medication and cycles interact over weeks and months — evidence a woman can take to her doctor. TIME has now named it one of its Best Inventions of 2026 in Health & Wellness. The device costs $349, with no subscription.
