Wyoming's students climb past pre-pandemic levels in every subject

Wyoming's 2025–26 test results carry a simple, welcome pattern: up, everywhere. Compared with last year, the share of students reaching proficiency rose 1.6 percentage points in English language arts, 4.1 points in mathematics and 1.3 points in science — and scores in all three subjects have now reached or passed their pre-pandemic levels. The gains were broad rather than narrow: grade 5 reading rose 3.5 points, grade 6 maths 6.7 points and grade 10 science 4.1 points, the largest single jumps in each subject. Over four years, English is up 3.7 points, maths 5.9 points and science 4.2 points, with elementary grades leading — grade 4 maths has improved 11.5 points across the span, with gains in three straight years.

The upbeat factornot one strong school or one good year — a whole state's children, ahead in every subject.
