13 years of free breast screening for Vietnamese women at higher risk — and a new campaign begins

In Vietnam, more than 60% of breast cancers are found late, when they are hardest to treat. Since 2013, the 'Joining Hands for Her' campaign — run by Roche Pharma Vietnam and the Bright Future Fund — has worked against that pattern, giving more than 80,000 higher-risk women free screening and training 600 healthcare professionals. This week the campaign launched its 13th year. Fund president Nguyen Thi Xuyen, a former Deputy Minister of Health, urged every woman to make regular screening a habit: found early, this is a cancer that can be beaten.

The upbeat factor80,000 free screenings in, a campaign that catches cancer early is still showing up.
