401 days of waiting, one cake, a round of applause: Timothy goes home

Timothy arrived at Wags & Walks Nashville as a sick, underweight 10-month-old puppy with constant stomach trouble. He stayed for 401 days. Staff and volunteers nursed him back to health and told his story online, post after post — and a couple who had followed the whole journey finally reached out as his one-year anniversary at the rescue approached. This week, Timothy was adopted. Staff surrounded him with applause as he left, a local bakery made him a dog-friendly cake, and his new owner Ally wrote on the rescue's video: 'We already love him so much. So grateful for Wags and his wonderful fosters for bringing him into our life.'

The upbeat factor401 days of being overlooked, ended by the people who had been watching and loving him from afar all along.
