48 researchers from one Indian university now sit among the world's top 2% of scientists
Forty-eight researchers from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have been named in the 2026 update of the global database of the world's top 2% most-cited scientists, compiled from Elsevier's Scopus citation data. Seventeen appear on the career-long list, 44 on the single-year list, and 13 on both — a breadth that spans medicine, engineering, materials science, artificial intelligence, energy and education. Citation rankings are a quiet kind of scoreboard: they measure not one headline discovery but years of work that other scientists around the world actually build on.
