570 second chances, standing tall as one: transplant recipients and donors set a world record in Delhi

At Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, 570 people stood together in Tadasana, the mountain pose — and every one of them was living proof of a second chance. They were transplant recipients and organ donors, gathered for the National Organ Transplant Games 2026, and their shared pose set a world record, certified on the day by the World Book of Records, for the largest congregation of recipients and donors performing it together. Inaugurating the Games, Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan called organ donation a 'Mahadaan' — a great gift — and honoured India's medal winners from the World Transplant Games 2025 in Dresden. The Games exist to make one point joyfully: a donated organ is not an ending, but a life resumed.
