696 megawatts of new wind orders: India's turbine makers are winning customers far beyond their own groups
Adani Wind has won orders totalling 696.2 megawatts from five independent power producers — including 300 MW from Purvah Green Power for Bellary in Karnataka and 155 MW from Jindal India Power for Davanagere — taking its order book from outside the Adani Group past 1 gigawatt for the first time. The contracts span three turbine platforms, including 5.2 MW machines, across Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra. It is a marker of how India's wind industry is maturing: the newest, largest turbines are now being bought competitively by rival developers, not just installed by their makers.
