7,541 pieces, 7 hours 27 minutes, one toilet break: a German teenager just speed-built the LEGO Millennium Falcon into the record books

Lukas Herrscher, 17, of Baldham, Bavaria, has claimed the Guinness World Record for the fastest build of the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon set — 7,541 pieces assembled in 7 hours, 27 minutes and 9 seconds, beating the previous record by more than nine minutes. He had never built the set before. He laid the numbered bags out in order, worked through the manual as fast as his fingers could move, and stopped only once for a toilet break and a few sips of water. 'It's really hard to build that long,' he admitted afterwards — before confessing he thinks he could go faster, because he made mistakes. The reward for seven and a half hours of hunching over tiny bricks? A massage.

The upbeat factorpure, joyful, pointless-in-the-best-way human determination — 7,541 bricks, beaten by nine minutes, with a massage at the end.
