A $10 million gift in memory of a father's care — and every community donation beside it gets matched

The Myhal Family Foundation has committed $10 million to Trillium Health Partners Foundation in Mississauga, Ontario, supporting the largest hospital redevelopment project in Canadian history — including a new hospital for women and children. The gift honours Rayla Myhal's father, Mehraj Din, who received care at Trillium and taught his family to 'give with an open heart'. The foundation is putting the gift to work as a match: donations from the community over the coming months, starting October 29, will be matched dollar for dollar. 'When a community comes together, it can build something none of us could build alone,' said Rayla Myhal.

The upbeat factorone family's gratitude, structured so it doubles everyone else's — a hospital built, quite literally, together.
