A $100,000 scholarship in Williamsport will keep future restorers and builders in school

Bill Alsted has committed $100,000 to endow a scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology, in Williamsport. The H. William Alsted Endowed Scholarship will support full-time students in automotive technology or collision repair who plan to add the college's automotive restoration certificate, as well as students in the construction management bachelor's degree — with preference for students from nine north-central Pennsylvania counties. Awards can be renewed if a student keeps a grade-point average of 2.5 or better, and the first $5,000 award has already been handed out for 2026-27.

The upbeat factorone neighbour's gift becomes a standing promise — every year, a local student gets help to finish what they started.
