A kidney drug kept working kidneys working — no one on it reached kidney failure in the trial
For people with IgA nephropathy, a kidney disease that can slowly lead to failure and dialysis, time matters. Vor Bio reported that its drug telitacicept largely preserved kidney function over two years in a late-stage study, cutting the risk of a confirmed 30% decline in kidney function by 89% compared with placebo. No patient on the drug reached the study's kidney-failure endpoint, compared with five on placebo, including two who needed dialysis.
The upbeat factorkidneys kept doing their job — and dialysis stayed out of the picture.
