A singer who lives with sickle cell is putting $20,000 behind the groups that fight it

Nigerian singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold has never hidden that he lives with sickle cell disease — and now he is turning that openness into funding. His AG Foundation has partnered with financial platform Pesa to start 'We're Not Done', a sickle cell impact initiative committing $20,000 to organisations that support people living with the condition. The first cycle backs four groups alongside the foundation's own work: the Sickle Cell Advocacy Management Initiative in Nigeria, Sickle Life in Ghana, and community groups in Canada and the UK — funding healthcare access, patient support, education, awareness and advocacy. The aim, Gold says, is 'turning awareness into action'.
