China's solar fleet reached 1.31 terawatts — up 16.5% in a year
The newest electricity statistics from China's National Energy Administration describe a power system changing at continental scale. By the end of September 2026, installed generation capacity reached 4.13 terawatts, up 11.2% on a year earlier. Within that, solar capacity stood at 1.31 terawatts — up 16.5% year on year — and wind at 700 gigawatts, up 20.4%. In plain terms: in twelve months, the country's solar fleet alone grew by roughly the entire electricity system of a large nation. Panels and turbines are only hardware until they are wired in — and these figures count what is installed and generating.
The upbeat factorin one year, one country's solar fleet grew by about a large nation's whole power system.
