Ecuador's taps get a $128.48 million boost for safer water

The Inter-American Development Bank has approved a $128.48 million financing package for Ecuador — a $120 million investment loan, a further $4.76 million loan and a $3.72 million Green Climate Fund grant — aimed at safer drinking water, sanitation and drainage services, with stronger local utilities to run them. Clean water is the least glamorous infrastructure there is, and the most life-changing: every reliable tap is diarrhoea that doesn't happen and hours of carrying water that families get back.
