For the first time in 142 years, Middle Georgia State has more than 10,000 students — and more of them are staying
Middle Georgia State University has passed 10,000 students for the first time in its 142-year history: 10,070 enrolled this fall, a record 14% jump from 8,828. Just as telling, the share of students who stay on from year to year hit a 10-year high, rising from 62.6% to 67.2%. Growth came from continuing undergraduates, graduate students and dual-enrolled high-schoolers alike, and total registered course hours rose nearly 9%. 'Reaching over 10,000 students is a historic milestone, but just as important is seeing more of those students continue their education with us,' said Ben Corpus, the university's vice president for enrollment management.
The upbeat factormore students arriving — and, harder still, more students staying.
