Four Mississippi schools earn Blue Ribbon honours for results — and for closing gaps

Four Mississippi schools have been named 2026 Mississippi Blue Ribbon Schools, the state's recognition for schools that excel academically or make major strides in closing achievement gaps between student groups. Ackerman Elementary and Madison Station Elementary earned Exemplary High Performing honours, among the state's top performers on assessments, while Northeast Lauderdale High School was recognised in the Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing category — schools proving that where a child starts does not have to decide where they finish. The awards honour the teachers, students and families behind the numbers.
