From 38 toddlers to a national trophy: a small Tripura school is named India's best of the year

Axiom Academy in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, opened in December 2017 with just 38 children in its nursery classes. Nine years on it teaches more than 580 students, and it has just been named Best School of the Year 2026 at the International Excellence Awards in New Delhi. The trophy rests on work, not luck: in the last school year its students won an international silver medal at the Science Olympiad, 12 gold and two bronze medals at regional level, and four national scholarships. Run by the Swapna Educational Trust, the school built its name on digital tools and open, modern management — and on never forgetting the 38 it started with.

The upbeat factora school that began with 38 toddlers now holds a national trophy — and 580 reasons it was earned.
