In Osaka, Filipino workers abroad got a free masterclass in investing safely — from their own regulators
Money sent home is hard-earned; money lost to a scam is gone twice. On October 24 in Osaka, the Philippine Migrant Workers Office and the Securities and Exchange Commission ran 'Be an Investment Champion,' a free webinar teaching overseas Filipinos in Japan and around the world how to invest smartly, verify that an offer is legitimate, and spot scams before committing their savings. The session drew strong participation from Filipino communities abroad — financial self-defence, delivered by the very regulators who police the market back home.
