In South Africa, 29 community projects, 8,000 volunteer hours and 36.4 tonnes (36,416 kilograms) of food

Across Ford's Silverton and Struandale plants and its dealer network, employees spent Global Caring Month doing work their neighbours had asked for: food gardens planted and tended, classrooms and care facilities repaired, equipment delivered to people with disabilities, and skills shared with young jobseekers. The programme logged more than 8,000 volunteer hours across 29 projects, and its food drive collected 36,416.4 kilograms of food — about 36.4 tonnes — for local organisations working on hunger. At one Vaal training centre, the policy team showed up in person; in Gqeberha, volunteers rebuilt water infrastructure and served community meals alongside disability organisations.

The upbeat factorcorporate volunteering measured the right way — in tonnes of food, repaired classrooms and hours given where neighbours pointed.
