KSh 3.1 million (about $24,000) will bring 10 acres of Ngong Forest back to life
An airline is putting down roots — literally. Fly 748 has committed KSh 3.1 million (about $24,000) over three years to restore 10 acres of degraded land in Kenya's Ngong Forest, planting and nurturing indigenous trees with the Kenya Forest Service and the Ngong Hills Metro Community Forest Association. Announced in Nairobi on Friday, the partnership expands the airline's restoration footprint to 25.5 acres, after it rehabilitated 15.5 acres of Kakamega Forest between 2022 and 2024. The work protects newly planted trees until they can stand on their own — restoration measured in surviving trees, not photo opportunities.
The upbeat factor10 more acres of indigenous forest, tended for three years until it can stand alone.
