Paralysed at the peak of her sport, Christina drifted her way into the record books

Christina Vithoulkas loved motorsport before a life-changing accident left her paralysed — and she decided the accident would not get the final say. Now 31, she is Australia's first female para-drifter, driving a prototype car controlled entirely by hand. For her Guinness World Records title she completed 11 drifting revolutions in one minute — the most ever in a hand-controlled prototype car by a woman — controlling slides that most drivers manage with both feet and a lifetime of muscle memory. Her story leads the Guinness World Records 2027 book's celebration of record-breakers, and her reason for attempting it is disarmingly simple: someone asked, and she is, in her own words, the type of person who always says yes to new opportunities.

The upbeat factorparalysis took her sport's usual controls; she took the record anyway — eleven revolutions of 'watch me'.
