Six world records in a single day: Sheffield's masters swimmers rewrote the book in the relays

Day two of the Swim England Masters National Championships in Sheffield produced six world records, eight European records and 14 British records — all of them in relay races, all of them by adult club swimmers who train around jobs and families. Basingstoke Bluefins' Fleur Turner, who set two world records on day one, was at the heart of three more relay marks, while Trafford Metro and a Black Country & Pensnett team in the 280+ age group — four swimmers whose ages add up to more than 280 — also set new world bests. Masters swimming's whole point, demonstrated in one afternoon: fast has no age limit.

The upbeat factorsix world records, none of them by professionals — and one by a team aged 280-plus combined.
