The child-safety platform that found 54,000 missing children is now a UN global champion

Punjab's 'Mera Pyara' virtual centre for child safety was declared a Global Champion at the UN-backed WSIS Prizes 2026 in Geneva — a top-five worldwide pick among e-government projects. It has responded to over 145,000 children, resolved more than 54,000 missing-child cases and reunited 77,000 children with their families, making Pakistan the only country with two projects shortlisted.
