They help people find homes for a living. After hours, they built five quiet revolutions — and just won $10,000 each for them
The National Association of Realtors has named its 2026 Good Neighbor Award winners — five members honoured not for selling homes, but for what they built in their spare hours. Each receives a $10,000 grant for their charity. In Richmond, Virginia, Sue Farrell's Boots to Suits has dressed 7,000 veterans for job interviews, with volunteer tailors who even adjust trouser legs to fall correctly over prosthetic limbs. In Texas, Weston Jenkins' Disabled Outdoorsmen USA has raised more than $2.5 million to take nearly 290 people with disabilities hunting, fishing and camping. In Jackson, Mississippi, Teresa Renkenberger's Shower Power truck offers about 160 people a hot shower, a haircut, clothing and a meal every Friday. In Nebraska, Jay Miralles' 50 Mile March has turned a birthday walk into more than $800,000 in grants for veteran nonprofits, and in Phoenix, Shawnee Doherty's Hope Through Hollis network has raised nearly $2 million for children's brain-cancer research while personally supporting families facing the same diagnosis. Five more finalists receive $2,500 grants each.
