West Africa sets its research table for 2027: ECOWAS launches the road to FARI in Accra
In Accra, Ghana, the ECOWAS Commission has held the first meeting of the Scientific Committee for the third African Forum for Research and Innovation — FARI-2027 — formally starting preparations for West Africa's showcase of science and young innovators. Under the theme 'Rethinking the education system to stimulate innovation and development', the committee and a start-up selection panel were appointed, and their work will produce the forum's operational roadmap and open calls for papers and applications. 'FARI has now established itself as a key instrument of our regional policy on science and innovation,' said Roland Kouakou, ECOWAS Director of Education, Science and Culture — a platform, in his words, for 'the exceptional potential of young innovators within our Community'.
