1,030 shelter pets, vaccinated where they feel safe: Hong Kong's Paws for Good passes its first thousand

Hong Kong's rescue shelters are packed and short-staffed, and a frightened dog or cat does not travel well to a clinic. So Paws for Good brings the vets to the animals. In its first year, the charity has funded and organised in-shelter vaccinations for 480 dogs and 550 cats across more than 20 shelters — 1,030 animals protected against preventable, deadly diseases without leaving the place they know. The charity, registered in late 2025, also runs a single search platform gathering Hong Kong's shelter animals in one place, and children's programmes on how pets teach empathy.

The upbeat factora thousand small patients, treated gently at home — because someone decided the vet should do the travelling.
