203 doctors, one room, one record: India's medical board takes AI training offline

India's National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has received a special Certificate of Recognition from the Asia Book of Records for its part in a record-setting training day: 203 doctors in a single in-person session learning to use AI tools in healthcare — the most ever in one offline session. The programme, run with Medical Dialogues and the National Medical Forum, put working doctors hands-on with AI assistants for clinical and academic work. It follows a Guinness World Records title the board earned earlier this year, when 17,999 viewers joined its AI-in-healthcare lesson livestream at once. The through-line is a regulator treating doctors' AI literacy as part of medical standards, not an optional extra.

The upbeat factorthe board that examines India's doctors is teaching them AI itself — 203 in a room, 17,999 online, and counting.
