46.24 seconds: Jang Min-ho runs a world record to complete a golden double

South Korea's Jang Min-ho, 29, arrived at his first Asian Para Games as a newcomer and left as a world-record holder. In Nagoya he won the T13 400 metres in 46.24 seconds — shaving 0.20 seconds off the world record and finishing 1.74 seconds clear of the field. T13 is the class for runners with visual impairments who race without guides. Three days earlier he had taken the 100 metres in an Asian record 10.48 seconds: two races, two golds, two records — and South Korea's first para-athletics world record since 2010.

The upbeat factora debut Games, a world record, and a sixteen-year wait for his country ended in 46.24 seconds.
