A brand-new soap just won four Emmys in its very first year — and its leading lady took home the big one
Beyond the Gates, the newest soap on CBS, arrived at the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, October 30 as a first-year newcomer — and left with four trophies. Tamara Tunie won Outstanding Lead Actress for her role as Anita Dupree, the glamorous head of the show's central family, and Ambyr Michelle won Outstanding Emerging Talent. The show also picked up awards for lighting direction and for hairstyling and makeup, matching the combined acting-category haul of rivals that have been on air for decades. CBS and CBS Media Ventures collected 10 wins on the night, up from eight in 2025.
The upbeat factora first-year show walked into a room of decades-old legends and walked out with four trophies — a fresh story can still win.
