A cancer vaccine nearly doubles one-year survival where immunotherapy stopped working
OSE Immunotherapeutics reported the final Phase 2 results for Tedopi, a therapeutic cancer vaccine, in people with metastatic lung cancer that had progressed after first-line chemo-immunotherapy. Combined with either chemotherapy or immunotherapy, Tedopi lifted one-year survival to 47% and 46% respectively, against 29% for chemotherapy alone — results the company presented at the ESMO congress in Madrid on October 25. Lead investigator Federico Cappuzzo of Rome's National Cancer Institute called it a new step forward for a patient group with very few options.
The upbeat factorteaching the immune system one more trick, and nearly doubling the one-year survival rate.
