A daily pill doubled survival in advanced pancreatic cancer — in every genetic subtype tested
Pancreatic cancer is one of the hardest cancers to treat, and most patients run out of options quickly. In a 500-person Phase 3 trial, people with metastatic pancreatic cancer who had already been treated once lived a median of 13.2 months on the daily pill daraxonrasib (brand name RASONQUE), compared with 6.7 months on standard chemotherapy. A new analysis presented at the ESMO cancer congress showed the benefit held across every RAS gene subtype — even in patients whose tumours had no identified RAS mutation. The drug, from Revolution Medicines, is already approved in the US.
The upbeat factortwice the time, for a cancer that rarely offers any.
