A gastric cancer drug doubled the time before the disease grew — 5.5 months against 2.9
For people with advanced gastric cancer that had already been treated, options run thin quickly. Takeda reported that its experimental medicine arcotatug tavatecan brought statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in a Phase 3 study in China and Japan: patients lived a median 5.5 months without their disease growing, versus 2.9 months on the treatment their physicians chose, alongside an improvement in overall survival. The data will support a planned regulatory filing in Japan, and an application in China has already been accepted for priority review.
The upbeat factornearly double the time without the disease growing, for a cancer that badly needs new options.
