A gastric cancer treatment helped people live months longer — 10.2 months against 6.9

For people whose advanced stomach cancer had already been treated, Takeda reported a treatment that helped them live longer: median survival of 10.2 months, compared with 6.9 months on standard later treatments, in the G-HOPE-001 Phase 3 trial presented at the ESMO congress. The drug, arcotatug tavatecan, also delayed the cancer growing — 7.1 months against 3.1 — and shrank tumours in 37.4% of patients, compared with 7.7%.

The upbeat factorprecious extra months, won in a cancer where options run out quickly.
