An Indian powder that stops bleeding in 60 seconds just beat 5,000 startups to win Singapore's top deep-tech prize
When bleeding will not stop and help is far away, seconds decide outcomes. Miraqules, an Indian biotech startup, has won the grand prize at SLINGSHOT 2026 in Singapore — an international deep-tech competition that drew more than 5,000 applicants and awarded a record S$2.2 million (about $1.7 million) in prizes — for StopBleed, a patented biomaterial designed to control bleeding within 60 seconds. It also won the Health and Biomedical category. StopBleed is already approved in India and in use in more than 25 hospitals, and the win brings Miraqules a year of free laboratory space, equipment and mentoring in Singapore to grow further.
