Clear skin, at last: a psoriasis shot clears it completely for 61% of patients on the higher dose
For people living with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, 'clear' is not a figure of speech — it is the difference between hiding your skin and forgetting about it. In Oruka Therapeutics' Phase 2b EVERLAST-B trial of ORKA-001, an antibody treatment designed to be given only once or twice a year, week-16 results showed 61% of patients on the higher 600 mg dose reaching completely clear skin, and 86% reaching at least 90% clearance. The results matched the company's earlier EVERLAST-A study, and the safety profile was in line with its well-established class of medicines, which block a signal called IL-23 that drives the inflammation behind psoriasis. A treatment that works this well and is taken so rarely could change the arithmetic of the disease: instead of daily creams or frequent injections, a couple of appointments a year. A Phase 3 trial — the final, larger test before regulators decide — is planned for the first half of 2027, with longer-term results from the first study due in December.
