Ebro saw the bus rolling with its doors open — so he jumped aboard and pulled the brake
Ebro Ahmed, 27, was on a slow Monday break outside Ya Bricks Snacks and Tobacco in St. Paul, Minnesota, when a Battle Creek Middle School bus rolled past with its doors open — and its driver slumped in what looked like a seizure. Ebro ran after it, jumped through the open doors onto the still-moving bus, and pulled the parking brake. Then he called police and stayed with the driver, keeping him from choking or hitting his head until paramedics arrived — all of it caught on the store's surveillance camera. All 18 students were unharmed, and the driver was later released from hospital. Ebro, who has no medical training, credits staying calm to watching Grey's Anatomy. Asked about the risk, he said: 'Even if I were to die, it would still be worth it.' Offered a $1,000 reward, he told CBS: 'Honestly, if it was up to me I would not even take recognition or anything.'
