EDP switches on its largest wind farm in Spain — 130 MW of new renewables across two projects

Two new EDP wind projects have come online in Spain, adding more than 130 megawatts of renewable capacity — led by Isar Yudego, the company's largest wind farm in the country, alongside the Ubierna project. Together they are expected to prevent about 38,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year. The build itself was a local event: nearly 600 jobs were created during construction and commissioning, with more than 100 companies involved at each site. It is the steady, unglamorous arithmetic of the energy transition — steel in the ground, megawatts on the grid, and a few hundred more tonnes of CO₂ that will never reach the sky.

The upbeat factor130 more megawatts of wind, 38,000 tons of CO₂ a year avoided — the transition, arriving one hillside at a time.
