In Accra, young and women entrepreneurs from across West Africa spent a week mastering the digital tools of trade

The second West African class of the COYWA programme — Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa — has finished a week of hands-on training in Accra, Ghana. Run by ECOWAS with the African Union Development Agency and Spain's development agency, the sessions from 26 to 30 October followed an online phase that began in September. Participants worked on digital security, productivity tools, using online platforms to sell, making responsible use of AI, and the financial skills to keep a small business alive. Youth ministers from Sierra Leone and The Gambia joined the certificate ceremony.

The upbeat factora classroom full of young founders left Accra with the digital and money skills that turn a good idea into a business that lasts.
