Meet Maggie Moo: the first Highland calf born at Beale Wildlife Park in its 70-year history

A Highland calf named Maggie was born overnight on October 1 at Beale Wildlife Park in Lower Basildon, Berkshire — the first in the park's 70-year history, arriving as it marks its 70th anniversary. Keeper Dougie Ford said she settled in 'really, really well' and bonded quickly with the rest of the herd: 'Within an hour she was already happy for us to go and handle her,' he said. 'Both the bull and the other cow have been looking after her. It's really, really heartening.' The calf was named after her mother, Morag, and has already proved a hit with visitors.

The upbeat factorJoy: seventy years of waiting, answered by one very small cow.
