Namibia puts every learner on the agenda as it launches the 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report

Namibia has launched the 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report on Access and Equity with a national policy dialogue at the University of Namibia's Khomasdal Campus in Windhoek — a room of government officials, researchers, teachers' unions, civil-society groups, students and international partners asking one question: who is still being left out of school, and why? Deputy Minister of Education Dino Ballotti opened the report with a plain standard: every learner matters, and no learner should be denied opportunity because of geography, poverty, disability or social background. The discussions took the global report's findings on access and equity and turned them on Namibia's own system — where learners start furthest behind, what barriers keep them there, and which policies could realistically close the gaps on the road to the 2030 education targets. It is the unglamorous, essential work of measuring fairness before trying to fix it.

The upbeat factora country publicly grading its own fairness in education — and inviting teachers, students and unions into the room to do it.
