Nevada's children will finally have a hospital of their own — thanks to a $150 million gift

For a Nevada family whose child needs specialist care, the choices at home have long been thin — the state has never had a children's hospital of its own. That is set to change: Felicia and Ben Horowitz have committed $150 million to build one in Las Vegas, one of the largest gifts ever made to a children's hospital in the USA. The hospital, which will carry their name, is expected to break ground next week and open in 2030, bringing specialist doctors, behavioral-health care and research to one of the country's fastest-growing states.

The upbeat factorone gift, and a whole state's children get a hospital built just for them.
