Nine Fairfield schools earned 31 distinctions in one year — nearly double last year's haul
Fairfield Public Schools in Connecticut is having a record year. In the state's latest Next Generation Accountability results, nine of its schools were named Schools of Distinction, earning 31 recognitions between them — up sharply from 16 recognitions across seven schools the year before. Fairfield accounts for a quarter of all Schools of Distinction awarded among the 21 districts in its comparison group. Fairfield Ludlowe High School is one of only seven high schools statewide to earn the recognition, while schools like Mill Hill and Osborn Hill were honoured for both high performance and high growth in reading and maths — for all students and for high-needs students alike, the detail that matters most. 'We're proud of what our schools have accomplished and grateful for the dedication behind these results,' said Superintendent Michael J. Testani.
