Uganda Airlines just landed in Accra — and Ugandans now enter Ghana visa-free
The runway lights told a story of two countries drawing closer: Uganda Airlines touched down in Accra on its new direct route from Entebbe, flying Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays — with Ghana granting visa-free entry to Ugandan travellers alongside the launch. It is the national carrier's 18th destination in its seventh year, with Kigali, Rwanda, next on November 18. 'Our goal is to be an engine of growth, not just transport for passengers and cargo,' said chief executive Girma Wake, calling the flight a gateway to West Africa. Uganda's aviation authority notes the airline already carries 30% of the country's air traffic — and each new route stitches trade, tourism and family ties a little tighter across the continent.
