A small Lithuanian city is borrowing €20 million (about $23 million) to become climate-neutral by 2030
Tauragė, in western Lithuania, is not waiting for capitals to lead. The European Investment Bank is lending the city €20 million (about $23 million) as part of an investment programme worth more than €110 million (about $129 million): 16.9 kilometres of new cycling paths, more zero-emission buses, energy-efficient renovations for schools and public buildings, a revitalised Jūra River waterfront and better water services across the district. 'Every resident will feel the benefits of these investments in their daily lives,' said Mayor Dovydas Kaminskas.
The upbeat factorclimate neutrality, measured in bike paths and school heating bills.
