She teaches the band, fights the fires, and stands the honour guard: Rawlins names its community builder

Stephanie Trimble's week in Rawlins, Wyoming, has a tempo: middle-school band teacher by day at Carbon County School District 1, volunteer battalion chief with the Rawlins Fire Department and its Honor Guard, member of the Wyoming LAST Team that honours fallen responders, and a leader at Jubilante Music Academy. This month the city named her its October 2026 Community Builder — and Trimble donated her $100 award straight to the music academy. 'If we don't have volunteers that are willing to serve, there is a lot that would not get done in a community,' her nomination read. In Rawlins, a lot gets done, and much of it has her fingerprints on it.
