Three rescue dogs, three veterans, and a second chance that goes both ways
At Freedom Fest in Castle Rock, Colorado, three rescue dogs who once faced euthanasia walked into new lives — each adopted by a veteran and their family. The adoptions, arranged by the nonprofit Pawsitive Pathways, got a $9,000 boost from the festival's auction donors and volunteers. The program pairs at-risk dogs from rural Colorado with people who understand what it means to start over, and supports each adoption with training, food and veterinary care through the dog's first month at home.
The upbeat factorthe rescued and the rescuers turned out to be the same people.
