Two Romanian musicians played a concert on every continent in 98 days — finishing in Antarctica

Pianist Stefan Doniga and violinist Diana Jipa set themselves a joyful absurdity: play a concert on every continent, faster than anyone ever had. Their 'Road to Freedom' tour — Brussels, Pretoria, Cebu, Auckland, New York, Lima, and finally the Chilean research base Julio Escudero on King George Island in Antarctica — took 98 days and 22 hours, claiming the Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to play a concert on each continent and beating the previous mark of 154 days by nearly two months. The pair, who have performed together for nearly a decade including at Carnegie Hall, dedicated the record to children practising to become musicians. 'We want our record to be the proof that working hard for your passion is a way to become truly free,' Diana said. Guinness World Records featured their journey this week.
